Survey Shows Logan Locals are Keeping Fit

The Griffith University and Logan City Council have partnered to conduct a survey on the activity level of Logan residence. The results show that Logan residents are above the national average in physical activity.

Data was collected on 914 adults and 264 children between October and November 2018, monitoring their physical activity. Here are some interesting findings:

  • 64% of Adults (18-64) were meeting physical activity recommendations of 75 minutes of vigorous activity or 150 minutes of moderate activity each week.
  • Walking was the favourite activity conducted by adults.
  • For those aged 17 years and younger, swimming was the most frequent physical activity done outside of school.
  • 23% favoured Fitness and Gym workouts.
  • 8% favoured bushwalking.
