The Future of Flagstone
The name Flagstone originates from Flagstone Creek located near the suburb and flows into the Logan River. Flagstone was officially gazetted as a suburb within Logan City Council on the 20th of May 2016 however it started to develop in 1996. Flagstone Community College opened in 2002 and Flagstone State School opened in 1998.
Greater Flagstone is part of a priority development area and along with Yarrabilba, currently, play a major role in the economic growth of Logan City accounting for about 30,00 jobs.
Today Flagstone consists of Semi-Rural, low and medium density residential properties with extensive development currently underway. Flagstone already has a number of small and local businesses operating including cafe’s, takeaway, convenience stores and medical services.
The medium house price for a 3 bedroom house is $410,000 and a 4 bedroom home will set you back around $422,500. The average rent is $380 per week. (source realestate.com.au)
One of the highlights to Flagstone is the Flagstone Adventure Park. This Park is is a multi-million dollar play area with towers, slides and sporting areas. The park is the largest in South East Queensland and set in 10 hectares of parklands. The feature to the park is a 3 story high centrepiece built up of cabins, ladders and webbing. This park is sure to be a delight with the children.

What’s planned for Flagstone?
There is a lot planned for the future of Flagstone and it is expected to be one of the 20 biggest cities within Australia upon completion. The development of Flagstone covers 7188 hectares of land west of Jimboomba. Flagstone is expected to be a major satellite city that will provide future employment opportunities and a work-life balance for the community. This will include a town centre and commuter services expected by 2041.
It is expected that Flagstone will provide about 50,000 dwellings, have a population of 120,000 residence and provide 66,000 jobs by 2041.
Part of this growth can be attributed to major construction and development being undertaken throughout Flagstone. This development includes investment from major businesses including Woolworths and Coles who already have their new Flagstone stores under construction.
A new McDonald’s is also in the pipeline with construction due to be completed in December 2019. Flagstone McDonald’s is expecting to employ up to 100 people.
