The Future of Yarrabilba
Yarrabilba is located 20 kilometres South-East of Logan Central and is a thriving new development with new homes being completed every week. Yarrabilba was formally part of the Beaudesert Shire however in 2008 officially became part of Logan City. Much of the land that is now known as Yarrabiliba was formally part of the Camp Cable training Base for the Australian Military during World War 2. It has been reported that unexploded military ordinance has been located throughout the development. Yarrabiliba is conveniently located about 55 minutes to the Gold Coast and 45 Kilometres to the Brisbane CBD.
The name “Yarrabilba” means ‘place of song’ in the Wangerriburra/Bundjalung language.
Yarrabiliba currently features a range of housing including townhouses, small and large homes. The housing consists of a variety of price points and land sizes to cater for a diverse population. As of the 2016 Census, Yarrabilba was home to 3,580. It is estimated that the population has now increased to about 7600 residence.

In 2018 Yarrabiliba State School opened catering for students from prep to year 6. Yarrabiliba is also home to St Clare’s Primary School which open in 2017 with Kindergarten to year 4. Yarrabilba State Hight School is currently under construction.
Yarrabiliba contains a range of lifestyle options including an urban precinct and multiple parklands for families. Sporting is also a big part of Yarrabiliba with new sports ovals, a sports and community hub and a swim school. There are frequently active events held at Yarrabilba including a weekly Park Run.
The Future of Yarrabilba
Yarrabiliba is a Priority Development Area (PDA) that extends over 2222 hectares. The PDA was officially declared in 2010. When fully developed it is expected that Yarrabilba will be home to about 50,000 people and contain about 20,000 dwellings. It is expected that development will take between 20-30 years.
Lifestyle will be a big attraction in Yarrabiliba with 25 per cent of the development being reserved for bushland, sporting grounds and environmental corridors. There is a focus on employment with over 100 hectares of the development set aside for Mixed Industry and Business Area. This can be utilised for a range of businesses and services.
Yarrabilba has planed 11 primary and secondary schools upon completion of the development. There will also be a number of childcare and other training organisations. A Catholic Secondary School is planned to open in 2021.
